The Power Academy of Irish Dance is based in Southern California, South Bay area and is owned and taught by Lisa Power Steinmetz, A.D.C.R.G.  The Power Academy has existed since 2006 and is accredited by An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha in Dublin, Ireland as well as the North American Irish Dance Teachers' Association and the Western Region Teachers' Association in the United States.  

 

Our mission is to to provide a family-oriented, enjoyable, enthusiastic dance program (both recreational and competitive) where the focus is always on the dancer.The Power Academy believes that there is a place for everyone in Irish dance regardless of age, experience or background.

 

Irish dance is a healthy activity that provides great exercise as well as a variety of other lessons.  Irish Dance can develop concentration, increase confidence, stage presence, coordination and discipline. Dancers learn to develop the qualities needed for successful teamwork while learning life lessons. Along with these important lessons, as dancers master their material, technique and move up through the levels, they will build a sense of accomplishment and confidence that will carry through in all aspects of their lives.  Dancers will learn what it means to be motivated, goal-oriented and that hard work and fun go hand-in-hand, both on and off the dance floor.
